first time at the @VanityFair party and I can confirm last night was a lot of fangirling while eating in n out burgers

one of the most gorgeous experiences I’ve ever had. the desert to me was something mystical and almost not real, something I saw in movies but my brain didn’t register as a real place, almost like when you see p站ane places that look like paintings on planet earth – we got to ride on the dunes and then stay overnight, I woke up to go to the bathroom at 3 and saw stars like I’ve never seen in my life!!! I woke up to all kinds of birds chirping at 4 am – there is something so healing about waking up like that. No TV, no electrical devices, no people – waking up hearing the sounds of the birds, waking up at the same time – made everything feel so simple and uncomplicated

never in my life did I think I would see a place like this, I urge anyone to save up to travel, and not like a beach/ resort type thing, but to a place that couldn’t be more different than what you know – it changes your life and mind in every way possible and is one of (and arguably the most) the greatest, most humbling adventures of living. getting to see places like this just makes me desperate to see more

One of my favorite people Anthony Bourdain once said, “it seems that the more places I experience, the bigger I realize the world to be”- it’s so true, I love the feeling of being humbled by traveling to another place and experiencing a completely different culture, it makes you realize how small your world is in comparison to how big the world actually is; how you’re only living one version in a million of the human experience. But at the same time travel makes you realize we’re not really all that different. i wore a hijab to be respectful when visiting this mosque and at the store this really sweet girl helped me put it on. We didn’t speak the same language, but she was smiling as she helped me, and it felt like she was a close friend. I can’t really describe it, but experiences like this give me such a special feeling of being really close to and really loving people ? see you tonight, Dubai ?????

to me one of the most important things is that working on my team is FUN for everyone, cause that’s the point right ?! we are all living our dreams from when we were little kids – my choreographers used to make up dances in front of the mirror, I used to sing Hannah montana songs when my parents left for Publix in my room, the musicians found themselves addicted to an p站trument p站tead of going to ply sports, and that’s what it should feel like now that we get to do this for a living too!!! I am happy to say everyone was emotional as hell even before we got onstage, there were tears shed after too, but we had the time of our lives making this – we had the time of our lives in rehearsal – and I’m super proud that I have a team that works on this like it’s a hobby – not resting, not sleeping, not stopping until it’s what we imagined ✨✨✨ to me , that’s worth more than every award ! I love you guys and am so thankful to work with such talented , dedicated creatives #grammys2019

so proud of this amazing human !!!!!! seems like yesterday we were just kids singing ed sheeran songs in the dressing room, now we’re kids trying not to throw up cause we’re at the Grammys!!!! i love you forever ❤️

2 minutes before it was our time to go on and we were onstage, I was trying not to cry ?I pictured my family, my grandma who was backstage and cried when she first saw the performance because it reminded her so much of her childhood, living in a solar habanero, which is a poor community in which every family had one room in a house and they all shared a patio, she would sneak out and dance with the people and musicians in the patio, she told me those were the happiest days of her life, and this performance was p站pired by her story, I knew I just had to go out there and party like I was my grandma when she listens to a song, she just loses herself in the music !!!!! I pictured my dad and sister who were onstage with me, my mom aka my best friend backstage looking out for me like always, I pictured my grandpa at home watching on TV- ? I just wanted to cry. I love them so much. Nothing is more important to me than family and this whole performance in every sense of it was a celebration of that. My family, my team that has become an extension of family, my Camilizers at home- we’ve become our own strong family in the last couple years and every time I get nervous, I picture your faces, how excited you are at home and how much you believe in me and root for me, and it fuels me with strength – last night was a celebration of everything that is important to me. I loved it so much and I loved honoring my grandma, my family, my culture- this performance didn’t feel about me, it felt much bigger than that – thank you @RecordingAcad for giving us such a beautiful opportunity to bring this idea to life ????? #grammys2019

To my army, my friends, my fans…. I love you so so so much. This year has been all about you and the new memories we’ve made with these songs. At first they were my little secrets, and now they’re bonds that bind us together in the moments we’ve made with them. It’s our anniversary!!!! I wish I could kiss and hug all of you for making this album and this tour so special. Happy anniversary, this has been the most beautiful first chapter.. and we have a whole book to go!!!! This time of night last year, I was nervous. I couldn’t sleep and I had to wake up in 4 hours. These songs, that were the soundtrack to my life for a long time, were about to belong to you. Thank you for loving them, taking care of them and giving them entirely new, special meanings. I’m so lucky I get to open my heart to you beautiful people. Happy anniversary, fam. What a ride it has been?

New Year’s Eve has always been my favorite holiday- even more than Christmas- there’s something so crazy about thinking of all the moments and emotions and people you met and memories you made at the end of the year, and knowing you couldn’t have predicted ANY of it. Realizing that something unexpected happening in a moment changed your day, changed the course of the week, changed your life for that year, and so on…. every single day really is a blank page; and that thought is both terrifying and exactly what it means to be alive. Looking back on this year, I’ve never felt more alive, never felt the experience of being a human more intensely. I’m exhausted. LOL. But that’s how I want it. 2018. I’ve never been more in love with life than I was this year. It’s messy, it’s beautiful, it’s hard, it’s unpredictable, it’s full of hope and dreams and discovering who you are, it’s so damn precious. How the story unfolds is and isn’t under our control- all we can do is decide to show up- no matter how scary it is, no matter what happens…. to see how it turns out. Here’s to a blank page tomorrow. Happy new year ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
